Housekeeping at Columns

My first few attempts at digi scrapping! i owe this inspiration to Khei after checking out her blog and viewing her great digi LOs. its really fun doing these, though i have to admit it doesnt have the "wow" effect compared to what others have done hehehe! its less messy, less prone to errors, and most of all....LESS EXPENSIVE! ahihihi. but of course will still pursue traditional scrapping..nothing can beat that!

Christmas 2007 at Bulacan Provincial Hospital

I really love Christmas parties, but 2 parties in one night (one in Bulacan and the other in Paranaque) is enough to stress me out. I told myself that just after our dance number, i will just rush to the south in time for another night of partying. But after seeing the prizes at stake for the raffle draw, I was just unable to drag my butt out. Too bad i only won a can of fruit cocktail hahaha!

Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve 2 years ago! 2006. At the comfort of our second home (Fernandina 88), Dad, Mom, Cynz, and I celebrate New Year's Eve making noise, gazing at the fireworks-filled sky, and praying that the coming year will be a better one for all of us. Happy New Year!

In A Laughing Fit

The last time my sis and I got into a laughing fit was during our college days at the dorm when we would make fun of our dorm-mates or the nuns running the facility (ang sama ba?!?!). Fast forward to the present.... I was just fooling around with my celphone camera when my sis started to make faces (the silly ones she used to make when we were kids). and the laughing and giggling just couldnt stop! that is how super shallow we really are hahaha! when my sis read the subtitles she asked "why 'laughing our asses out'? diba dapat asses off yun!" oh no another typo and i already finished the LO. what the heck, i just laughed it off na lang! ;-)

After-convention Party

So a typical annual convention won't be complete without an after-convention gimik! so EAMC peeps are at it again! Jenny was so generous to be "taya" of the group after being honored as Diplomate earlier in the opening ceremony. We settled for Crocodile Grille coz the guys need to have "The Longest Yard" beer! Talk about guy cravings!!!

DIPLOMATES & FELLOWS: Congratulations to the new Fellows and Diplomates. Years of grueling training and hard work finally paid off!

Birthday Surprise for BRE!

The med tech staff of BPH laboratory was brewing up someting for our big boss Doc Bernie's birthday. We chose a very private resort in Bulacan, and each one of us pitched in for the food and entertainment expenses. As usual, i brought delicious barbecue from Ineng's which the peeps totally loved. Doc Bernie never really expected this, and all of us were pleased that no one ruined the element of surprise. We sensed that she was pleased and overwhelmed by all the preparations. We really wanted to make this special for her since she is one boss who really put her heart in everything she does for the betterment of everyone. Always cheerful despite a stress-filled day, her infectious cheerful nature permeates through everyone. Truly she is a blessing to all of us!

Beach Girls

These are the rare moments when you see me and my sis really having a great time. It's not to say that we dont have fun during our weekend routines at the mall and movie theatres. Sometimes, though, "routines" can become oh so monotonous and boring that we crave someting new and exciting. So we made the most out of our time at the beach -- my sis just showing off her great form and getting herself a henna tattoo for the first time, while yours truly just getting the rest I need from the daily grind at work and courageously displaying my "logs" haha!

Fun & Games at LPDH Lab

LPDH lab christmas parties are always fun! The med techs there never fail to make me laugh so hard to point of losing whatever composure I have. They seem to never run out of games with twists -- the greener, the better hehehe. Dra Rueda and Mam Diane are always into the merriment -- never holding anything back. Quite rare to see everyone like this during an ordinary day. Usually, we seem just like the machines we operate, busy and absorbed in our own world and not minding each other. These are the times when you wish that everyday is Christmas!

LPDH goes United Nations

Journal (edited): The "United Nations"-themed Christmas party at Las Pinas Doctors Hospital a few years ago proved quite a riot! Each participant really put their best foot forward. Syempre, the Paramedical group (most especially the Laboratory peeps) are on top of my list with their impressive Latin pasa-doble dance number. The belly dancers of Arabia were also pleasing (and amusing) to watch. As expected, the Nursing group representing South East Asia danced to the tune of the immortal Pinoy Big Brother jingle by Orange and Lemons. Ulk! The hosts for the evening, Dra. Domingo and Dr. Almelor, were in their flamboyant best as a Spanish pixie fairy and African tribesman in that order. As for me, I just wore a plaint elephant-printed tshirt and jeans. What am I??? Just a freaking tourist in Thailand! Hehehe!

Paulinians - Warm, Active, and Simple

In 2005, it was my first time to see my co-Paulinians after 18 years! Arriving at Somerset Hotel, I knew I wouldnt get lost cause my feet led me to the room where the noisiest femmes are. Believe me, I have never seen people talk so much at the same time and with them understanding each other despite this. I just love it! The air was heavy with excitement, joy, wonder, awe....all the positive adjectives i can think about. It was indeed a happy moment for all of us. A lot of us have changed -- grew thin, a lot were heavier (and that includes me!), some with long bleached hair, the former tbirds have become ultra feminine hehehe, and most have become doting moms to adorable kids --but still, it seemed nothing really had changed! The event also coincided with SPCP reunion in Arizona, and the webconference thingie we set up just made this event all the more exciting.

Last Time I Saw Amy

It was 2 years ago, my birthday lunch treat at Dad's Glorietta. The whole VFP-Lab gang was there (Kuya Ronnie, Nancy, Jovie, Myra, Malou). It was sort of a double celebration, with me celebrating my 30+th year (lolz) and a farewell celebration naman for Amelita. Oh well, despite the overflowing food, the lively kumbacheros roaming tables, and the festive atmosphere, nimbus clouds linger over us. I am surely going to miss Amy! There were days at EAMC when we sort of didn't get along or our ideas didn't jive, but hey people are really different, right? It is this very difference that makes each one of us unique. I guess what mattered most was that despite the difference, we still found ways to be comfortable with one another. And those are the times that i will truly cherish. Wishing one day to see Amy again!

Cytology Workshop at NUS

It was my first time to attend a workshop outside the country, and I was so excited to see people of different races gathered together doing the stuff that we do well most. I felt likewise elated seeing familiar faces from UST Hospital and Heart Center of the Philippines. Of course, it wont be exactly fun without the sightseeing, eating out, and shopping with colleagues. I swore to myself that if I had enough in my budget, I would be going out of the country for workshops more often. Its just like hitting two birds with one stone -- education and fun mixed together (though the latter is more preferrable hehehe!)

Uniquely Singapore

One of our most memorable trips a few years back was at Singapore where I attended a cytology workshop at National University of Singapore. During the 5 days we were there, we got to marvel at how truly unique this country was. Everything seemed to operate like clockwork, so organized, so clean, so disciplined. It made me wish for the same thing for the Philippines. Deep in my heart, I knew this was possible if just given the right leaders to liberate this country from the state we are in.

Sonya's Garden

One time we were in Tagaytay and our friend Andrew really urged us to check out Sonya's Garden (sorry i misspelled the title in my LO.) We found the place a welcome respite to the usual hustle and bustle of Cubao life hehehe. In every corner, it was so tempting to just chill out and let your mind wander on serene and peaceful thoughts. How i wish our garden was like this!

Crazy Lazy Days of Summer

These are the last layouts I have done several months ago, and the shots were taken summer of last year pa. I am soooooo way behind my scrapbooking! If it were not for the overwhelming enthusiasm of the members of scrapbook-exchange Yahoogroups, I would not have been inspired to post these. Summer of 2006 was the most memorable for us all. We spent Holy Week at Caylabne Bay Resort at Ternate, Cavite. For me, more than the meditation and the beach fun in general, i was extremely happy just being so close with my parents and sis. During ordinary days we get caught up with work and other serious stuff that it's hard to just chill together. Its unfair lang i didnt have the chance to wear a swimsuit like my mom and sis...ggrrrrr! lolz
